Today, while i was reading "Apollo Times", a local newspaper published from Vadapalani, Chennai i came across an interesting piece of information. It is about Edaya Theivam Puratchi Thalaivi Selvi Amma...aka Jayalalithaa, CM of Tamil Nadu. Her portrait will be displayed at International American Frienship Soceity's Hall of Fame in Chicago.
The article says,
"A pastel painting depicting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, clad in a green sari and against a yellow background, will be on display".
The painting was drawn by Ruckmani Thiyagarajan, general secretary, youth wing of the World Tamil Youth Federation.
The press release from the society says:
"The painting was presented to the society in recognition of Jayalalitha's efforts to empower women".
